A Special Cat Who Needs An Extra-Special Person to Love!

Introducing Picasso, a handsome 2 year old who was found living outside in a colony in Toronto.
What’s so special about him?
He is deaf and his back leg has a congenital deformity, causing him to walk with a limp.
It is unclear whether he was born outside or whether someone heartless dumped him
once they discovered what they were faced with.
Yet he has beaten all the odds and survived.
He was discovered by accident late last year, by one of our Directors, Jacqui Barnes.
Knowing that the winter was approaching, we just couldn’t turn our back on him.
After several weeks of feeding him to gain his trust,
we were able to catch him and bring him indoors.
Although Project Jessie is primarily geared towards rescuing
dogs and cats who would otherwise be at risk of being be sold to research,
we also help some special cases like Picasso.
Dogs and cats are placed into foster homes until a forever home is found.
It’s been over 3 months since he’s been at his foster home and has
improved tremendously, but he still has a way to go before he becomes
comfortable being around, and trusting people.
"He is using his special litter box, is very inquisitive and loves to explore.
He also loves to play with his toys,” says Jacqui Barnes.
It is too early to tell whether or not he will be the kind of cat
who seeks out human companionship and affection, but we feel that if
he sees another affectionate cat, he will follow suit.
Picasso is looking for that special family who will take him as he is
and work to help him blossom.
